Classification, characteristics and selection methods of polyester mesh belt

Polyester mesh belt is a kind of fabric used for papermaking, conveying, filtering and other fields. It is woven from polyester fibers and has the characteristics of wear resistance, strength, heat resistance and so on. According to different uses and requirements, polyester mesh belt has various models and specifications, which are generally classified according to the following aspects:

Layers: refers to the number of layers of fabric that make up the mesh belt, such as single layer, double layer, three layer and so on. The more layers there are, the thicker and stronger the mesh belt is, but the worse the air permeability is.

Meshes: refers to the number of warp or weft threads per centimeter length in the mesh belt, such as four meshes, five meshes, seven meshes, eight meshes and so on. The higher the number of meshes is, the smaller the mesh size is and the larger the density is.

Warp diameter and weft diameter: refers to the thickness of warp or weft threads in the mesh belt. The larger the diameter is, the more solid the mesh belt is but less flexible it is.

Strength series: refers to the maximum tensile force (unit: N/mm) that can be borne by a mesh belt. Common values are 80、100、125、150 etc. The higher strength series value is ,the more durable it will be.

Covering rubber thickness: refers to thickness (unit: mm) of rubber layer coated on surface of a mesh belt. Common values are 0.5、1.0、1.5 etc. The greater covering rubber thickness value will be ,the better adhesion force and water resistance performance it will have for materials.

Papermaking industry needs to choose polyester forming net with good air permeability , good forming performance , good wear resistance . Common models are single-layer four-mesh or five-mesh .

Conveying industry needs to choose polyester conveyor belts with high strength , good impact resistance , good temperature resistance . Common models are multi-layer EP series .

Filtering industry needs to choose polyester filter cloth with high density , low porosity rate , easy cleaning . Common models are single-layer seven-mesh or eight-mesh .
