Press felt consists of felt base net and felt flocking. 

Felt base net, also known as substrate, is equivalent to the frame structure of the blanket, which determines the upper limit of felt weight, breathability, water content and shape stability. The base net is prepared into a network structure by means of carding wire, monofilament, multi-filament and sandwich wire composed of nylon material. At the same time, the base net is divided into single layer base net, double layer base net, three layer base net and composite base net.

In addition, there is a non-woven base mesh, non-woven base mesh is usually used in cultural paper or white card on the base cloth, which is characterized by fast dehydration, and woven base mesh is strong extrusion resistance, longer life.

The diameter of fpile fiber directly affects the air permeability, surface flatness and pressure and dehydration transmission path of the blanket. Flocking mainly affects the surface fineness of blankets, which is usually expressed by the dtex value of surface flocking, which refers to the gram weight of 10,000 meters of fiber. The smaller the value, the finer the surface flocking, and the smoother the paper surface effect can be obtained.

In addition, flocking also affects the fiber density and internal spatial stability of the blanket. When the flocking density is too low, it is difficult for the inside of the blanket to be filled with moisture quickly and reach saturation state. The adaptation period of the blanket is long, and the speed of the paper machine cannot be started. When the flocking density is too high, the blanket is easy to be compacted, dirty and difficult to clean, resulting in rapid closure of the wool cloth, due to lack of dehydration ability.
